ICT for cargo on the road

The project aims at studying how public applications, such as road user charging system for Heavy Goods Vehicles can be integrated with other applications for HGVs. ICT for cargo on the road has used literature reviews, interviews and quantitative modelling to identify and analyze telematic services. Based on this has Sweco developed three prototypes of services that are suitable for HGVs together with a Road User Charging system.

The three services are
• Dangerous goods service
• Real-time traffic information service based on FCD
• Dynamic/static traffic information service

Sweco carried out interviews for identification of services suitable for a Road User Charging system. Sweco also coordinates the demonstrator with include create consortium, system architecture and prototype development.
