Architecture

Half of the world’s population lives in cities. Sweco’s architects are equally experts at designing an entirely new Asian city and a small-town school. Whatever project, the focus is on creating ideal environments for people to live, work and thrive in the cities of tomorrow. By combining recognized expertise with a broad range of operations, Sweco’s architects offer a unique and comprehensive view in designing the buildings and landscape of the future.

Urban Planning

Together, we are creating, developing and designing the environments, communities and cities of tomorrow. In partnership with an array of experts, clients, authorities and academia, we create the foundation for sustainable and resource-efficient environments for people to thrive, work and live in.

We collaborate closely with the client from the concept, structure and idea stages, through the public opinion and process management stages, to the finished master plan and configuration programmes. We employ an integrated and intersectoral approach and leverage our collective expertise in architecture and cultural environments, as well as in infrastructure, water and energy. Each project is unique, requiring curiosity and an understanding of the space and its existing qualities, as well as a structural approach and a universal perspective.

Our urban-development process uses people, spaces and the fabric of the city as touchstones. Public spaces and the content therein create the basis for meeting places and influence how people move about and the manner in which they do so. Public transportation systems and streets for diverse traffic uses, green and blue structures, connections, clear boundaries between cities and nature, and between public and private spaces play a pivotal role in structuring the fabric of the city.
