The tenant owners’ association HSB commissioned architects at Sweco to design the Cinnober housing development with 90 residential units in the Kvillestaden area of Gothenburg. The design has been shaped by pervasive environmental thinking and the roof will contain a greenhouse where the residents can cultivate their own garden plots.
Responsible architect: Kajsa Crona
In Kvillestaden lies the Cinnober housing development, which Sweco's architects have designed on behalf of HSB. The building has a distinctive character featuring tall brick gables, panel facades and glazed balconies in combination with attractive living solutions and a greenhouse of the roof. The design has been influenced by powerful environmental thinking from the very start. A wide variety of unit sizes and floor plans provides capacity for variation in both ages and family constellations.
One unique feature of the housing development is the shared rooftop greenhouse which contains a meeting room, party facilities and the housing association's laundry room. Here you also find a spacious sun terrace. The rooftop garden serves as an extra living room for the residents and provides opportunities for private garden plots.
