Measurement technology

Nowadays, technology allows for more precise measurements than ever before. This is often fundamental to performing effective design work and providing a precision basis for decision-making. Sweco’s measurement technology experts possess extensive experience in this field and employ the latest technology.

Terrestrial laser scanning is a method that enables the rapid collection of data and documentation of complicated industrial environments, older buildings and bunkers, among others. Yet we also work with aerial laser scanning along with aerial photography, which provide a valuable basis for investigations and design work in the form of highly accurate terrain models. 

Our measurement engineers and surveyors also conduct high-precision industrial measurements and land surveying using GPS and network RTK, or total station. Ocean and sea floors are charted using GPS and dual frequency digital sonar
