In this massive assignment, Sweco is planning large parts of the city’s infrastructure, energy supply and water supply. In the model, the Kiruna of the future is visualised as a sustainable and interconnected city where nature is never more than three blocks away.

Through the virtual urban model, all of the involved stakeholders can analyse, coordinate, visualise and plan the future Kiruna. Sweco offers a smart urban model where data flows information can be used to create concrete benefits for the city’s residents, politicians and business community.

The assignment was started in 2013 and employs consultants in civil engineering, energy systems, building service systems, structural engineering, water and environment, industrial engineering, project management and IT for urban development.
