In southern Sweden, consumption of electricity sometimes exceeds the supply. The SouthWest Link, the national grid operator Svenska Kraftnät’s largest investment of all time, is now being built to ensure reliable and efficient transmission of electricity from central to southern Sweden. Sweco has been involved in the project since 2009 and has provided services for everything from permitting matters and land acquisition to large-scale engineering design works. The end result will be a powerful link that increases the capacity for transmission of electricity between central and southern Sweden by 25 per cent.
