Water and environment

Today’s cities have an unavoidable impact on the environment, but adverse effects can be minimised. Sweco’s water and environmental specialists work with reducing harmful emissions, recycling waste and ensuring access to clean water. Sweco works to help achieve a sustainable society with the least possible impact on the environment. Minimising or recycling waste as a component of the ecocycle is naturally a key element of these efforts, and we strive to integrate the management of this process into the overall infrastructure insofar as possible.

Sweco’s experts possess more than 40-years’ experience from hundreds of Swedish and international waste projects, addressing matters both big and small. Thanks to tight-knit collaborations with other specialists at the company, we can offer deep and extensive experience in every assignment. We manage every aspect of the process ranging from feasibility studies, investigations and strategic planning, to design, planning and project management. Our experience ranges from waste minimisation, sorting and cleaning, to sustainable remediation with energy and material extraction.

Our assignments encompass waste planning, the localisation of waste facilities and designing landfills. We also offer assistance in permit applications and environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for various types of operations within the waste sector, and we have a full range of expertise for designing biogas and clean-burning gasoline (CBG) facilities.
